Letter from Srivijaya to Damsyik

It is sad to know how hard it is to trace back the ancestral lineage of our bloodline. Most archaic documents were written by those who win. Even stories from the school book are misgiven. Most of the ‘hikayat’ were lost in translation for some unknown reasons. Well, the followings was one of ‘that’ letter sent by Sri Indravarman during his reign in Srivijaya to Khalifah Umar bin Abdul Aziz.

(Azra, Azyumardi 2006)

That folks was how they do business those days. The differences among them were ‘celebrated’ and they meant to learn from each other despite of the differences. An so Islam was being taught widely to the kingdom of Hindus.
